At ACS-TECH, we specialise in HV battery monitoring systems, with over a decade of experience developing and integrating automated test facilities for BMS testing and validation. We design our environments to fully exercise BMS functions – cell voltage and temperature monitoring, current and insulation measurement, contactor control, balancing, diagnostics, and fault handling – under tightly controlled electrical, thermal, and load conditions. Using automated test scripting and structured data analysis, we support extensive regression, durability, and fault-injection campaigns while reducing human error and engineering effort.​

We apply this expertise across multiple platforms, from model- and software-in-the-loop to hardware-in-the-loop and full system test rigs. This multi-platform approach lets us validate BMS designs for road, off-highway, motorsport, and stationary energy storage applications, positioning ACS-TECH as a trusted partner for robust, production-ready HV battery BMS test environments tailored to demanding technical and regulatory requirements.

SINGLE BATTERY CELL CHARACTERIZATION

We perform single battery cell characterisation to quantify capacity, internal resistance, efficiency, and ageing under realistic operating conditions. Using precision cyclers combined with climatic test chambers, we control current, temperature and state-of-charge while applying drive-cycle-based load profiles. We have designed and built our own in-house load tables and customised test setups, so we can configure fixtures, safety interlocks and measurement chains to match each chemistry, format and project requirement. This flexibility lets us run long-duration cycling, pulse power tests, HPPC, open-circuit characterisation and abuse-oriented scenarios at cell level before modules exist. The resulting datasets feed directly into electrothermal models, BMS calibration and diagnostic strategy development, helping customers define operating windows, protection thresholds and warranty assumptions based on measured cell behaviour rather than estimates. As a result, pack and vehicle teams receive cell data that is immediately usable in simulation, controls and safety analyses.

Allying our understanding of complex systems and test automation tools with the ability to develop test setups means we can successfully test the function and performance of almost any component or system at any stage in the product development phase.

FLASH PROGRAMMING

In addition to providing fleet software flashing services, we also develop bespoke automated flashing routines that ensure all the correct firmware and software are correctly installed.

We also provide snapshot applications to verify the status of the various vehicle electronic modules and to create a clear timestamp status of all systems before and after electronic module flashing.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

 

We are experienced in converting text requirements into software, including static and dynamic control design.

​

The software is firstly tested in a virtual environment, and, once compliance is confirmed, the control and interface hardware specification is created or optimized in accordance with your system's needs.

​

Finally, the software is tested on the real control hardware in any number of in-the-loop arrangements as required until full verification is achieved.
